On 23 September 2021, H.E. Mr. Nitirooge Phoneprasert, Consul General of Royal Thai Consulate - General, Chennai, paid a courtesy call on Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Gaaru.

On this occasion, both respected parties expressed their strong willingness to work closely together to further strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation between Thailand and Andhra Pradesh in areas of mutual interests especially in trade and investment sectors to support post COVID-19 recovery. 



The Hon’ble Chief Minister stated that  Andhra Pradesh is among the top foreign direct investment (FDI) destinations in India, with a business friendly environment and supportive government policies including the Production Linked Incentives. In this regard, the Hon’ble Chief Minister invited Thai entrepreneurs to consider investing in the electronics cluster and hotel development in major tourist areas of the state. 

Moreover, both sides expressed mutual desire to promote tourism cooperation between Thailand and Andhra Pradesh as a key component of economic development and promotion of closer people-to-people and cultural ties, as well as to organise joint activities to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and India in 2022. 



The Consul General has taken this opportunity to present the donation of a sum of 3 million Indian Rupees to the Connect to Andhra Development Fund by CPF (India), an agro-industrial Thai company which has invested in Andhra Pradesh since 2005.
