17 November 2022 Consul General Nitirooge Phoneprasert together with Thai representatives had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Ashwath Narayan C N, Minister for Higher Education; IT & BT, Science & Technology; Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, the Government of Karnataka, on the sidelines of the 25th Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS).
On 17 November 2022, Consul General Nitirooge Phoneprasert together with representatives from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chennai, the National Innovation Agency of Thailand, the Thai Startup Trade Association, and Health Tech Startup Thailand, had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Ashwath Narayan C N, Minister for Higher Education; IT & BT, Science & Technology; Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, the Government of Karnataka, on the sidelines of the 25th Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) at Bengaluru Palace, Karnataka.
Acknowleding Karnataka as a leading global hub of innovation, the Thai delegation expressed strong interest for Thailand to join the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA), which is the Government of Karnataka's flagship programme to foster international cooperation through innovation, science and technology network. This initiative has enabled the collaboration and deep engagements between Karnataka and her 30 plus partner countries worldwide.
The two sides further agreed to collaborate on building robust innovation, technology and start-up ecosystems and helping start-ups in both regions to enter new market with global reach. The Thai side has taken this opportunity to extends an invitation for the Government of Karnataka to participate in the STARTUP x INNOVATION THAILAND EXPO 2023 (SITE 2023), to be organized by the National Innovation Agency in Bangkok in June next year.
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Thailand this year, both parties agreed to further advancing the cooperation in other potential areas such as trade, investment, tourism, higher education, and people-to-people contacts focussed on mutual benefits for the peoples of Thailand and India.
