Royal Thai Consulate- General in Chennai in partnership with the Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park organized the Amazing Thailand Cooking Contest.

On 19 September 2022, the Royal Thai Consulate- General in Chennai in partnership with the Crowne Plaza  Chennai Adyar Park organized the Amazing Thailand Cooking Contest with an objective to promote Thai cusine in South India in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand – India Diplomatic Relations in 2022.

The five finalists of the contest were selected from participants in the first round of online video submission held between August to September 2022.

In the final round, the five finalists were required to cook two Thai dishes - Thai Spicy Yum Salad and Tom Kha Gai. Each dish was considered by judges based on these criteria (1) taste (2) creativity in the presentation of the dish (3) cooking techniques and skills and (4) hygiene. 

The list of winners was as follows:

First Prize - Mr. Raj Kumar Poudel awarded 50,000 INR.

First runner up - Ms. Rabiathul Basiria awarded  30,000 INR .

Second runner up - Ms. Vedam Thanvi Sree Nithya  awarded 20,000 INR 

Third runner up - Mr. Jananth S. awarded 10,000 INR.

Fourth runner up - Mr. karthikendra AB awarded 10,000 INR.
